Top 8 Group Buying Sites in the Philippines

I have been a fan of group buying since it started here in the Philippines and that is why I have came up with The Top 8 Group Buying Sites Review. The reasons why I like it a lot is that is that you get to have the things that you usually shy away from because they are simply too expensive or you simply just don’t want risk your hard earn money on things that you don’t know if you will like it. I really like the concept of group buying in a sense that you get to have discounts up to as high as 50-90% on some of your favorite restaurants, spa, hotels, resorts and the like which are a blessing to our Overseas Filipino Workers or OFWs.  OFWs can save a lot of money from purchasing from these group buying sites.  I had literally saved thousands of pesos from buying from these different group buying sites and have eaten in fine dining restaurants like they are fast food outlets because of the huge savings that I get.

According to Wikipedia: Group buying, also known as collective buying, offers products and services at significantly reduced prices sometimes up to 50 – 90% discounts on some products and services on the condition that a minimum number of buyers would make the purchase.

Group buying sites in the Philippines

Here are the Top 8 Group Buying Sites in the Philippines:

1. Ensogowww.ensogo.com.ph

ensogo

Ensogo provides a number of deals to can save you up to 90%. The beauty about ensogo is its simplicity in terms buying a deal. You can pay through Paypal or thru any local banks like BPI and BDO. They have really marketed their websites to reach a mainstream audience and have made it a point to provide the kind of service that you expect. Click on the picture to get huge discounts.

2. CashCashPinoywww.cashcashpinoy.com

cash-cash-pinoy

CashCashPinoy also provides a number of deals for its market that can help them get discounts up to 90%. The thing that I like about CashCashPinoy is that they continue to innovate and improve their product offerings and their website. Click on the picture to avail of their huge discounts.

3. MetroDeal –  www.metrodeal.com

What seperates MetroDeal from the rest of the group buying sites in the Philippines is its huge Facebook following. They have used their massive Facebook following amounting to more that half a million followers to their advantage. The main concern that I have is that if you have more than a thousand people coming to a spa in less than a year, it would be pretty hard to get a reservation on weekends and you would have to consider the effects on the merchant if they can handle such volume on a short amount of time. This is all good for MetroDeal but what about the buyers.

I have experienced this on a spa that advertised their services on a group buying site and having huge sales, they can’t seem to keep up with the volume of customers to the point that they have cut off their telephone line which made it difficult for its customers to contact them.  The quality of their services also suffered so much so that I have actually stop using their services even if I still have a number of their vouchers. I gave those vouchers away because the service and the hustle is simply not worth it.

4. Buyanihanwww.buyanihan.com

buyanihan

Buyanihan as a group buying site has some unique product offerings like the summer deals that they have launched to cater to those who would want to save money on their summer vacations. It is such a good and innovative offering in helping increase tourism awareness in the Philippines that OFW’s would surely love. Click on the picture to get huge discounts.

5. Pakyawwww.pakyaw.com.ph

pakyaw

Pakyaw is one of those group buying sites that you simply have to check out because sometimes they can offer amazing deals that you simply have to purchase or you end up waiting for another season for you to purchase if ever they will make it available. What I like about Pakyaw is that sometimes they really have amazing deals. What I don’t like is that they don’t have a Paypal buttom for you to pay for their deals. Click on the picture to avail of their huge discounts.

6. Kuponan –  www.kuponan.com

Kuponan is similar to Pakyaw in terms of having those amazing deals that they offer to their customers like the Cheesecake from Cheesecake etc. which gives you 50% discounts on their delicious cheesecakes. I have bought a number of them and they are delicious. What I also like is that you simply pay a fraction of your initial order then the rest to the store directly. Kuponan is a service provided by Ebay, the world number one auction site. I wondered why they jumped into the group buying frenzy. What do you think?

7.  Beeconomicwww.beeconomic.com.ph

beeconomic

Beeconomic is the local version of the original Groupon site. They have advertise their site very well especially thru search engines like Google and social networking sites like Facebook. Groupon is the pioneer in terms of innovative group buying and they are the ones that have started this huge innovative business. The problem that I have with Beeconomic is its branding, it is pretty hard to remember it even you frequent these group buying sites on a daily basis. Despite their huge backing, they can’t seem to beat the other group buying sites in the Philippines. Click on the picture to get huge discounts.

8. DealGrocer - www.dealgrocer.com

DealGrocer is the only private sale group buying site that I have listed here. They want you first to be part of their membership club before you can actually see their complete products offerings which I think is crap. I understand the point of getting e-mails for building your e-mail list but why not just follow the success of the other top group buying sites that will allow you to check out their product offerings even without first giving your e-mail.  I think they are losing a number of potential buyers because of their “Private Sale” strategy. It is such a waste because they have some pretty good deals. I think it should be better that they should not put a barrier to the customer experience.

There are a number of other group buying sites in the Philippines but I simply want to focus on quality and the best that is why I have limited the number to only the Top 8 group buying sites in the Philippines. Now, which of the top 8 do you think is the best? Send your comment and experiences below.
