I was interested in purchasing a tablet a few months ago, that was before Amazon launched the Kindle Fire. The first thing that I wanted was Apple’s Ipad 2, I had tried it out at the PowerMac in Greenbelt and Megamall, PowerMac is the counterpart of the Apple Store in the Philippines. Apple’s Ipad 2 is sleek and simply the top of the line tablet in the market today. It has a lot of features and its Apps store has the most number of apps compared to the Android Market.

One of the concerns that a lot of buyers on a budget has on the Ipad 2 is that is is quite expensive. The price of the Ipad 2 in the Philippines stands at around $600 – $800 US dollars depending on the specifications of your specific Ipad 2. Also, I was already waiting for the Ipad 3 to be launched. One of my main concern was Apple fast product turnover which means the tablet that you purchased today may be obsolete and out dated after a few months or so which is not what I want.

Aside from the Ipad 2, I also checked out Samsung’s Galaxy Tab. The price is quite similar with that of the Ipad 2 but it runs on Android. Of course, if the price is just as similar to that of the Ipad 2, I think for bragging rights and cool factor I would simply chose the Ipad 2. I also research on other tablets like the ones from HP, HTC and Blackberry. The main concern that I had with the other Android tablets was their availability and price point which is still on the level of the Ipad 2.

What I was looking for was the best value for money tablet PC on the market today. When Amazon launched the Kindle Fire last Nov. 14, I was excited because it was only priced at $199 US dollars, that is pretty cheap for a tablet that has almost the same specs as the Blackberry Playbook except of course for the memory and storage. Given the amazing price point I tried to research if the amazing Kindle Fire is indeed the best value for money tablet in the market today.

After reading countless reviews, comparisons to other tablets from computer blogs and news websites and from videos from Youtube on its actual use and pros and cons, I had found out that the Kindle Fire is worth the risking my hard earned money to purchase it since I have to have it shipped to my country since the Kindle Fire is only for sale in the US which is quite weird.

I look for ways to have Amazon Kindle Fire shipped to the Philippines and had checked out which courier is the most cost effective. I found out that Johnny Air is the best way to have the Kindle Fire shipped to the Philippines. Check out their website for more details: Johnny Air and here is the sample of the process that you will go through when doing some online shopping by using a service like Johnny Air, simply check out this website for more details: Online Shopping using Johnny Air.

I continued to do my research and search for a Kindle Fire in the malls. I found one is the Mall of Asia but they selling it like an Ipad. They tried to sell for $500 US dollars which is crazy because it also costs $199 at  the  amazon.com website. I also looked at other trading websites like  sulit.com.ph to see if there is an available Amazon Kindle Fire for sale in the Philippines. I was surprised that the price of Kindle Fire advertised in those trading websites were quite reasonable. I decided to go with the trading websites which were  more affordable, they were selling the Amazon Kindle Fire for less than $250 US dollars which was quite reasonable given the shipping cost involve and the risk.

I got my Kindle Fire after a week and all I can say was it is the best value for money tablet in the market today. Given the price point, its features, its portability and its quality it is simply worth the wait.
